AMERICAN HERO

War is very ugly
It’s not a pretty sight
But sometimes your back’s against the wall
And you have to stand and fight
Our country went to fight a war
And issued out the call
For able bodied soldiers
Who were willing to give their all

He’s somebody’s brother
He’s somebody’s son
He’s somebody’s daddy
Somebody’s only one
They’re fighting in a war
To keep our country free
God bless the American soldier
He's a hero to me

Each new day is a challenge
To bring peace to a troubled land
The enemy hides in the shadows
Trying to stop the peaceful plan
Who will step up to the front
To keep the people free
The brave American soldier
From the land of liberty

She’s somebody’s sister
She’s somebody’s little girl
She’s somebody’s mommy
Somebody’s whole wide world
They’re fighting in a war
To keep our country free
God bless the American soldier
She's a hero to me

One day soon they’re coming home
Yellow ribbons they will see
Welcome home American soldier
Welcome home sweet liberty

He’s somebody’s brother
He’s somebody’s son
He’s somebody’s daddy
Somebody’s only one
They’re fighting in a war
To keep our country free
God bless you, American soldier
You’re a hero to me

God bless you American soldier
You’re a hero to me
